Portraiture is a fairly new venture for me. For a long time, I was convinced that I could not take outstanding photographs of people. Those thoughts disappeared in a weekend. I took a portraiture class at the International Center of Photography in New York City with David Turner, a fashion photographer formerly with W Magazine. He helped me realize that I can take amazing photos of people. (The photos of Kelsey and Jace are from that weekend.)
Now, I adore taking photos of people. I love studio work, but my goal for 2007 is to work on environmental portraiture. I have some great ideas for experimentation, and this is one area that I hope to grow in as a photographer.
